“Solo Exhibition Rebecca Salter”

Upon graduating from Bristol Institute of Technology, Rebecca Salter began her artistic life as a potter. While studying at the Kyoto University of Arts for six years, she became fascinated by Japanese woodcuts and paper making techniques. She uses woodcuts to complement the features of Japanese paper.

Being inspired by both Eastern and Western art, Rebecca explores ceramics and the image on the flat two-dimensional surface. To enhance the negative space in her works, she omits extraneous elements in which the results in a meditative and delicate artwork. We welcome the viewers to enjoy Rebecca Salter’s works that blend Eastern and Western arts and harmonize with ceramics works.
